Camping Villaggio Rubicone is the perfect starting point for excursions and cycling and walking tours, in an area rich in art and history and with extraordinary places to visit. You don’t want to miss a walk to the spectacular wooden bridge that connects the two banks at the mouth of the Rubicon River. The walk starts in San Mauro Mare, a small seaside resort only 200 metres from the campsite, and ends in Gatteo Mare.

You’ll stroll past oleander bushes and other typical species of Mediterranean flowers, along the path between the beach and the entrance to the campsite, to the historic Roman bridge, where you will feel practically suspended in mid-air, while the boats underneath you leave the harbour.

The most photographed part of the bridge? Obviously where the bronze bust of Julius Caesar stands bearing the famous phrase “alea iacta est” (the die is cast).

As well as the enchanting beach of Savignano Mare, there are many other famous seaside resorts, such as Cesenatico (5 km), Rimini (12 km), and Riccione (25 km), all easily reached from the campsite. True architectural jewels and world-famous art cities in the area include Ravenna (28 km), San Marino (30 km), Florence and Venice (the campsite regularly organises excursions there for guests). Those who are passionate about cycling and mountain biking, can explore the inland area of Romagna thanks to the endless cycling routes through the breath-taking landscapes of the Marecchia Valley and Montefeltro, with ancient, picturesque medieval villages boasting Roman and Byzantine fortresses and castles, such as Santarcangelo di Romagna, Verucchio, Torriana, Gradara and San Leo.

A short distance from Camping Villaggio Rubicone, you’ll find some of the biggest and best-known water and amusement parks in Italy: Mirabilandia in Ravenna, Fiabilandia and Italia in Miniatura near Rimini, Aquafan and Oltremare in Riccione and the Aquarium in Cattolica. And for shopaholics, Romagna Center, the largest shopping mall on the Riviera, is only 800 metres from the campsite. It boasts more than 100 stores, a huge supermarket, a bowling alley, a games centre and a cinema.
